Fuddruckers may not be the first place that you think of going to for a perfectly cooked burger – after all, it’s awfully strange name, and even harder to remember. The decor is tired but fun. And it hardly has glowing reviews and it’s certainly not where the trendy hang out.
But taking my 10 year old there for the first time yesterday, we were both so pleasantly happy with the great service, friendly staff, stunning burger and fresh help-yourself assortment of condiments. She had a 1.3 pounder (and she polished not only the entire burger, but most of the very yummy perfectly seasoned steak fries). I opted for a slightly healthier grilled chicken burger, and it was cooked perfectly. I had forgotten that they make their own buns daily, and it showed – they were a perfect complement to the burgers.
So before you go thinking about hitting of the newer and trendier and more expensive burger joints, maybe a visit to one of the older chains just might be worthwhile.
